A group of monks representing the Gaden Shartse monastery visited and stayed at the Hearth in May. They made a sand mandala in the Ice Cream Corner, which was on display for the week until its ritual sweeping-away.
Community members brought food and met with the monks, who provided house and land blessings and astrological readings. We hope to welcome them back next year.
