Cinco de Mayo Celebration Brings Culture, Color, and Community
Downtown Delta came alive this Cinco de Mayo with a vibrant celebration honoring Latina culture, community, and joy. The event was a beautiful blend of tradition and togetherness, bringing families, friends, and neighbors out to celebrate.
The crowd was dazzled by the colorful performances of Nueva Generación Folklorico, whose dancers brought the rhythms and stories of Mexico to life through traditional dress and movement. The celebration continued with live music from Estilo Heredado, whose lively music kept spirits high and dancing alive all afternoon.
This vibrant event was curated through the collaborative efforts of the City of Delta, the Western Slope Migrant and Rural Coalition, The Learning Council, and many local Delta businesses. It was a shining example of what’s possible when community partners come together to celebrate culture and connection.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to our board member Betsy Johnson, who helped represent The Learning Council at our table and shared our diversity library with the public—bringing inclusive stories and resources right pepole of Delta.
We’re so grateful to be part of a community that celebrates heritage with such heart. ¡Gracias a todos!
