Without Shade, Without Rest
The Learning Council and Migrant and Rural Coalition, showed the Film Without Shade Without Rest at The Paradise Theater on October 21,2026. We are thankful to Working Films. Org for supporting this viewing and for their incredible work shining light on the importance of justice for farm workers in the United States.
We were honored to have our colleagues from La Plaza, Anahi Perea and Sandra Rodriguez attend the film and share some of the challenges farm workers face on the Western Slope. Anahi spoke of education being essential for supporting workers so that they can navigate benefits that they can access in the region.
It was also fantastic to welcome Fair Food Program. Org and hear from them about engaging in campaigns that boycott companies who mistreat workers and normalizing the ways that workers can use their voices to complain when their rights are violated and foster more effective legal process.
Thank you to the Paradise Theater for providing the venue for the film.
A great question came through our discussion around how we can in the long term be better stewards of our farms and farming community? We can make strong steps toward treating farm workers well with respect and dignity by buying local food directly from the farms/farmers.
